众所周知，英语是一种介词语言。因为介词的数量和使用频率在英语中比汉语中多。由于语言上的差异，我们的英语学习者以一种更成熟、更自然的方式来说或写英语是一个非常重要的问题。关于介词“of”的翻译，前人的研究却很少。通常，他们更注重其他的词类，如名词、动词、形容词等，即使当他们注意到介词时，他们通常只研究那些对方向有明确意义的词，但很少注意介词之类的词，而介词的含义不明确，因此本文将对of的翻译策略做出大概整理。

(1)当短语结构为对象+ of +对象：

of似乎没有任何作用，或有任何必要存在于这样的一个短语，因为最后一个词足以表明一个短语可以做什么时，of可能是为了优化表达或结构。

（2）虚词+ of +对象：值得一提的是，正如前面提到的，虚词是指事物的质量和数量，所以在这个表中，王国的伟大不属于对象+of+对象的范畴，而是属于这一范畴，因为伟大是在质量的范围之内。
